Here’s When A24 Is Releasing Documentary

Film News

While the world knew when the trailer dropped for A24‘s Telluride surprise Elizabeth Holmes documentary, You Can See Everything that the Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder directed title was coming out in October, it was out in the ether, unconfirmed that the pic’s release date is Oct. 16.

A24 hadn’t even put down a date in Rentrak, which is important as it sends a signal to the competition that a distributor is marking territory. We confirmed this AM, that, yes, indeed, You Can See Everything is coming on Oct. 16. The release pattern remains TBD — it could be a platform, it could go wide.

The tea leaves indicated that You Can See Everything was bound for Oct. 16 after Bleecker Street moved up their Alex Gibney directed, near four-hour documentary Musk to Oct. 9 from Oct. 16.

Deadline’s Andreas Wiseman first reported about the awards season fall shocker, You Can See Everything, back at Telluride. Ten reviews out of Telluride have the documentary at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The documentary was shot a month before the Theranos founder Holmes went to prison for defrauding investors of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Pete Hammond trumpeted in his review of You Can See Everything, the the movie “blows the lid off the story that has already been adapted into several documentaries, podcasts, bestselling books and a limited series that won Amanda Seyfried an Emmy for playing the controversial founder of healthcare technology start-up Theranos at age 19.”

You Can See Everything clock in at 2 hour and 54 minutes, however, with all its twists and turns, we hear it feels like a fast click with the absurdist Fielder interacting with the off-beat Holmes and her partner Billy Evans.
