The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 Teaser Teases a Chilling Final Ride, But Why the Long Wait?

Television News

Saying goodbye to Daryl and Carol will be a bittersweet affair, but we’ve been down this road before.

As anchors of the latter seasons of The Walking Dead, they were the main attractions for so long.

And now, it’s time to say goodbye all over again.

AMC went public with the first teaser for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 today, and it sets the tone for the horror to come.

The first footage shows Daryl and Carol stunned by what looks like an army of speedy walkers that have had a big impact in the European-set spinoff.

The footage then cuts to the community being overrun by them, and I hate to say it, we’re probably going to lose a lot of characters.

Then there’s the mysterious character Jimmy Smits is playing.

AMC’s press release calls him Captain Alejandro Perkins, “a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who found a unique way to thrive during the apocalypse.”

Across the sprawling Walking Dead franchise, we’ve witnessed our fair share of villains who have found a way to survive the apocalypse.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Is Getting Even More Dangerous

Daryl and Carol have faced many of them, too, which should make them well-equipped to take on Alejandro.

I don’t doubt for one minute that he’ll be the spinoff’s last big bad, and I’m kind of here for it.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 is one of the best seasons in The Walking Dead’s history, so here’s hoping The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 can keep up the pace.

The first three seasons were intriguing, but expectations are different for next season since it’s the end.

There have been rumblings that several legacy cast members are about to assemble for a reunion series, but until AMC says anything, it’s just rumors.

First, Daryl and Carol will have to make their way back to the U.S., which seems difficult given where they are located now.

I’m starting to feel like one or both of them will not head back to the U.S., and if so, my vote is Carol.

Who would have thought she’d find love with Antonio?

He’d better survive because it’s high time she found some semblance of happiness in this dead world.

One thing that irks me about the final season is the premiere date. It feels like it’s been in the can for months, so waiting until 2027 feels like a misstep.

Norman Reedus has already moved on to a new project, so I don’t understand why we couldn’t just segue from The Walking Dead: Dead City into The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

Alas, I don’t make these decisions, but if I did, well, you know the answer.
