Well, this is not the way I expected Big Brother Season 28 to play out.
After the first two weeks, I figured it was going to be a season of shifting alliances and power moving between different sides of the house.
Thursday’s live eviction found RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Jason De Puy sent out of the house in a landslide vote.
It was evident the show was headed in this direction, but I thought there was a decent chance that Jason could win the Big Brother Blockbuster.
He won last week’s after all, but Mallory learned earlier in the day that she was the backup target if Jason saved himself and so, she won the competition this week.
This played directly into the Toolshed’s master plan because they got their target out of the house.
With the live eviction over, the feeds came up to the house reacting to Jason’s exit, and then, the Head of Household competition got underway.
Early on Friday morning, Haley won the Head of Household competition.
This is a frustrating development because it keeps the Toolshed in control of the game for another week.
It also may lead to Kamu getting a second Head of Household in a row because Haley is Kamu’s #1 ally at this point.
Big Brother Is Getting Stale This Season
The only thing that could shake things up at this point is if the other side wins a Big Brother Time Capsule power.
Then, they would have a chance at shaking up the game. Jason may be gone, but everyone not in the Toolshed is now well aware that they’re on the outside of the majority alliance.
That’s why it would have been fun for the likes of Mallory, Lyric, La Trice, or Yash to secure a victory this week to force the other side to play the game.
Steamroll seasons are not fun and I have a feeling if one of those four won the competition, they would have forced Rick to use his Diamond Power of Veto.
There are so many ways this season could improve, but the majority alliance is just too strong for the other side to have a fighting shot.
It’s a shame, too, because this cast is electric and does know how to bring the drama on this reality TV hit.
It’s probably a foregone conclusion that we lose Mallory, Lyric, or LaTrice next week unless either of them win a power that can change things somewhat.
On Friday, we have nominations and Big Brother Time Capsule results coming up, ahead of the Veto competition on Saturday.
So, it will be a busy few days, but like, it’s hard to be excited based on the fact that Haley is Head of Household.
