Kelly Clarkson Tears Up Discussing End of Her Daytime Talk Show in Emotional Interview

Kelly Clarkson is looking forward to breaking away from some expectations.

Five months after announcing The Kelly Clarkson Show will end this year, the “Breakaway” singer jokingly pointed out how there are different rules for filming the NBC talk show versus performing as a musician.

“I would get fired [by] NBC, but I don’t work there anymore,” Clarkson joked to the crowd during the first night of her Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace July 17, according to footage shot by @jpasc24. “We are sad about [it]. It was a fun show.”

The Grammy winner went on to share her thoughts about attending human resources meetings, poking fun at how some situations she’s experienced on a tour bus would not fly in corporate settings.

“It’s funny, you go to those HR meetings and you’re like, ‘Nobody on the road would last,'” Clarkson explained. “It’s just a different world. I was 19 on a bus with dudes. ‘What? I can’t do what?’ ‘Yeah, that’s completely inappropriate.'”
