Ella Mai Shares Rare Insight Into Life With Her and Jayson Tatum’s “Musical Baby”
Ella Mai is deep in her feelings when it comes to her and Jayson Tatum’s little boy.
Indeed, the “Boo’d Up” singer—who welcomed her first baby in 2024 with the Boston Celtics player, though they have not publicly shared his name—opened up about how excited she is that her little one is following in her musical footsteps.
“I try not to overdo it because I don’t want him to grow up and be like, ‘She just pushed her music down my throat,’” she exclusively told E! News’ Will Marfuggi of playing her music for her little one at the MusiCares 2026 Person of the Year Gala Jan. 30. “But I do try and play a lot of music around him.”
She added, “He was watching the movie Sing today, which is his new obsession, so I love that he loves that because I’m like, ‘Oh, you’re a musical baby.’”
And while we’ll have to wait and see whether her baby inherits his mama’s vocals, Ella, 31, shared that he’s well into the talking stage, even if he is just babbling for now.
As she put it, he’s “talking mostly gibberish, but thinking that he makes sense.”
