The film, which premiered on Prime Video Jan. 30, landed the No. 1 spot on Nielsen’s Movie chart debut week with 827 million minutes streamed and held a spot in the top ten for three weeks. Per Nielsen, the other two most watched comedies on Prime Video were their Paramount pick-up, Coming 2 America, and the Anne Hathaway-Nicholas Galitzine romantic comedy, The Idea of You.
The Nicholas Stoller written and directed movie, follows two weddings that are double-booked at the same venue, with the father of one bride and the sister of another bride try to preserve the wedding weekend. The pic also stars Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, Stony Blyden, Leanne Morgan, Rory Scovel, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ramona Young, Jack McBrayer, and Celia Weston.

You’re Cordially Invited continues a longstanding working relationship between Amazon MGM Studios and Hello Sunshine. The two companies previously collaborated on Something from Tiffany’s, a romantic comedy starring Zoey Deutch and Kendrick Sampson, The Pasta Queen, which features New York Times bestselling author Nadia Caterina Munno, a descendant of an Italian pasta dynasty, and Daisy Jones & The Six, which was nominated for nine Emmys, including Outstanding Limited Series, and earned three Golden Globe nominations including Best Limited Series. Additionally, the re-release of the book sent Daisy Jones & The Six to the #1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list for nine weeks, and the album “Aurora” was nominated for a Grammy Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Up next, Amazon MGM Studios and Hello Sunshine are working together on Elle, starring Lexi Minetree, which follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.
Stoller and Ferrell also have the upcoming comedy Judgment Day at Amazon MGM Studios with Stoller Global Solutions and Gloria Sanchez producing. Directed by Stoller and starring Ferrell, the comedy, which is currently filming, follows a young convict fresh out of prison (Zac Efron) who takes a reality TV courtroom hostage blaming the megalomaniac TV judge (Ferrell) for a past ruling that the convict feels ruined his life.
In addition to You’re Cordially Invited, which over-indexed with women on Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios is releasing several other films and series on the service that reinforce its commitment to women-led storytelling, including: Maintenance Required, starring Madelaine Petsch; The Map That Leads to You, starring Madelyn Cline and KJ Apa; We Were Liars, starring Emily Alyn Lind, which will premiere June 18; and the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, which will premiere July 16.
