Parenting isn’t always an easy A.
And Penn Badgley understands that all too well as he recently detailed the difficult moments that come with fatherhood.
“Sometimes it can be tough and you can just be over it,” Penn, 38, shared during a live taping of New York Times’ podcast Modern Love at On Air fest Feb. 23, per People. “And for whatever reason, there’s always going to be the times as a parent, … you lose your patience.”
But when the Easy A alum, who is dad to son James, 4, and stepdad to Cassius, 15, with wife Domino Kirke, 40, puts it in perspective how young his preschooler is, it’s hard for him to be angry.
“For me, it’s just the sheer size of them, being so small, the naivete, the helplessness,” Penn added. “I would lose my patience with other people, no doubt, but not [him].”
The You actor specifically recounted a moment where he felt like he was “being short” with his son, but was able to step back and calm down by doing a breathing exercise.
