Madonna is postponing the start of her Celebration Tour, her longtime manager, Guy Oseary, announced today on Instagram. “On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead [sic] to a several day stay in the ICU,” Oseary wrote. “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.” Find Oseary’s full statement below.

Madonna’s Celebration Tour was scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 15, in Vancouver. The tour, which stretches into January of next year, had been sent to have additional stops in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe, and the United Kingdom.

As Guy Oseary noted in his statement, it is not currently clear when the tour will begin. Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Madonna for further comment and information.

Since announcing the Celebration Tour in January, Madonna has released songs with Sam Smith (“Vulgar”) and the Weeknd (“Popular”). She has also seen a long-planned biopic scrapped by Universal Pictures.

Guy Oseary:

On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU.
Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.
