Drake announced that the release of Her Loss—his forthcoming collaborative LP with 21 Savage—will be delayed after his producer Noah “40” Shebib contracted COVID-19 while mixing and mastering the album. The album will now arrive Friday, November 4, a week after originally intended. The original release date—and existence of—Her Loss was revealed in the video for Drake and 21 Savage’s video for “Jimmy Cooks,” the final track on Drake’s latest LP Honestly, Nevermind. Drake first shared the news of the delay on his Instagram story.

Shebib was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 21; some immunotherapies used to treat autoimmune diseases like MS can leave immune systems compromised to fight off viruses like COVID-19. In 2018, the National Multiple Sclerosis society admonished Pusha T for mocking Shebib’s illness in “The Story of Adidon.”
