Music News

Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Khruangbin, and Raye are among the nominees for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Also vying for the accolade are Shaboozey, Benson Boone, and Teddy Swims. Find the full list of 2025 Grammy nominations here.

First-time Grammy nominee Chappell Roan recently nabbed the Best New Artist title from another institution—the MTV Video Music Awards—accepting her MoonPerson during the September 11 ceremony. Benson Boone, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims were also among the nominees that night.

Roan is nominated in five additional fields at the upcoming Grammy Awards, placing in each of the Big Four categories. Her debut LP The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is up for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, while its mega-hit “Good Luck, Babe!” will compete for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. Sabrina Carpenter is having a similar hot streak, with Short n’ Sweet and chart-topper “Espresso” landing in the same five respective categories as Roan’s work.

Rising Top Dawg Entertainment rapper Doechii has earned a handful of additional noms, including Best Rap Album, for Alligator Bites Never Heal, and Best Rap Performance for “Nissan Altima.” Kaytranada was also nominated for Best Remixed Recording for his take on Doechii’s JT collaboration, “Alter Ego.”

The 2025 Grammy Awards are set to air live, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. Follow along with all of Pitchfork’s coverage of the 2025 Grammy Awards, and revisit “Who Should Be Nominated at the 2025 Grammy Awards” on the Pitch.
