John Cena would do anything for a movie—but he hates doing a sex scene.
The Peacemaker star recently got candid about just how difficult those scenes are to film, calling them to absolute “worst.”
“There is nothing intimate about it,” John told Shannon Sharpe on the Aug. 21 episode of Club Shay Shay. “Nothing. So, like, it’s really embarrassing.”
The 47-year-old recalled his memorable role in 2015’s Trainwreck, adding that he didn’t know the extent of the sex scenes he’d have with costar Amy Schumer until they got much closer to filming.
“Amy is an angel,” he said, “she made the environment so comfortable, and then when I got the part, eventually they were like, ‘Yeah, it’s a sex scene and we want you to do elaborate and crazy stunt sex, and all those lines you had? We’re probably not going to use them, we’re just going to do this stunt sex scene.'”
But John was totally game, even when they asked him to make it “the most awkward sex you possibly can” to help add to the humor of the scene.
