2024 MTV VMAs Gets New Date to Avoid U.S. Presidential Debate

Music News

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are getting pushed back a day. The event will now take place on Wednesday, September 11, at Long Island’s UBS Arena. As a result of the postponement, the awards show will no longer conflict with the September 10 presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald J. Trump.

Along with the new date, MTV has announced the first batch of performers for the 2024 VMAs. Taking the stage are: Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, Glorilla, Rauw Alejandro, and Sabrina Carpenter. It’ll be Cabello’s third VMAs performance, while her co-performers are all making their respective debuts.
