‘Ordinary Angels’ Flying Away From Taylor Swift – Release Date Change

Breaking News, Film News

EXCLUSIVE: The Kingdom Studios and Lionsgate drama Ordinary Angels starring 2x Oscar winner Hilary Swank is departing from its Oct. 13 theatrical release date as AMC’s Taylor Swift: The New Eras Tour looks to open to at least $70M off a female-heavy audience.

Universal’s The Exorcist: The Believer seeing the crazy amount of presales at $37M+ yesterday opted to go a week earlier on Oct. 6, which is much richer release date where Joker, and Venom have launched.

No bother for Ordinary Angels which is TBD in regards to its release date. Lionsgate runs an entirely grass roots campaign on these pics, so there’s complete flexibility and no wasted media or P&A costs. Furthermore, we understand, that Swank wants to promote the pic. So, potentially waiting out the SAG-AFTRA strike is prudent for a smaller feature such as this.

Based on a true story, Ordinary Angels centers on Sharon (Hilary Swank), a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed (Alan Ritchson), a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. What unfolds is the inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels.

Jon Gunn directed. Pic is produced by Jon Berg, Roy Lee, Dave Matthews, Johnathan Dorfman, Sarah Johnson, David Beal, Kevin Downes, Jon Erwin and Andrew Erwin.

Meg Tilly and Kelly Fremon Craig wrote the screenplay.

Alan Ritchson, Nancy Travis, Tamala Jones, Drew Powell, Amy Acker, Skywalker Hughes, and Emily Mitchell also star.
