Sofia Coppola, Phoenix’s Thomas Mars, and Jim Jarmusch all appeared in a new episode of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, which aired on Tuesday (August 30). In the opening of “Freddie,” the trio of human artists show up for a night at a newly opened Staten Island vampire club. Things go awry when Coppola (who’s married to Mars) asks for a special item on the menu. The episode is currently streaming on Hulu

Elsewhere in “Freddie,” vampire Laszlo (Matt Berry) rattles off a list of vampire acts that includes Gloria Estefang, Batboy Slim, and Tame Impaler, along with the wraithy Bonnie Wraith, Wraith Hill, and Wraith Evans. Mars had no comment about his appearance in the episode, and Pitchfork has contacted representatives for Coppola and Jarmusch for comment.

Now in its fourth season, What We Do in the Shadows is a spinoff of the 2014 feature-length comedy of the same name. Jemaine Clement and Taika Watiti directed and wrote the project together, occasionally making brief appearances in the series. Other guests have included Mark Hamill, Tilda Swinton, Haley Joel Osment, and Evan Rachel Wood.
