They kicked off the first concert of their 20-date Brooklyn Steel residency last night
Last night (November 23), LCD Soundsystem kicked off their 20-date residency at Brooklyn Steel, marking their first live performance in three years. They opened the show with a cover of Spacemen 3’s 1993 track “Big City,” as Stereogum points out. Watch it happen below.
LCD Soundsystem’s residency will run through December 21. The last time they performed live as a band was during 2018, when they toured behind their 2017 comeback album American Dream. Ahead of last night’s show, longtime LCD member Gavilán Rayna Russom announced that she has left the band, and will not be present during the group’s Brooklyn Steel residency.
