Warner Bros. this morning dated the next iteration of New Line Cinema’s famed horror franchise, Final Destination: Bloodlines for May 16, 2025. It’s the only major studio wide entry on that date.

The Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein directed movie, which has a story that’s being guarded, has Imax screens. Genre pics like A Quiet Place II have done well in the May corridor in years past.

Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor are writing the screenplay from a story by Jon Watts based on characters created by Jeffrey Reddick. Producers are Watts, Dianne McGunigle, Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor. Cast for the new Final Destination is Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Max Lloyd Jones, Owen Patrick Joyner, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Rya Kihlstedt, Tinpo Lee, Anna Lore, Gabrielle Rose, April Amber Telek and Alex Zahara.

In addition, Warner Bros is getting Legendary Entertainment’s live action hybrid road movie Animal Friends, which was originally at Sony through the production company’s old deal, and giving it an Oct. 10, 2025 release. Warners has worldwide on the movie which stars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, Dan Levy, Lil Rel Howery and Ellie Bamber. Animal Friends will go up against Disney’s Tron: Ares on that weekend.

Peter Atencio directed off a script by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. Legendary produced with Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and Prime Focus Studios.

R-rated movies such as the Jackass and Zombieland franchises have proven to a be a success in the fall corridor, hence Animal Friends being here.

Lastly, the David Robert Mitchell directed and written Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor title, Flowervale Street is relocating from May 16, 2025 to March 13, 2026. The movie will be up against Blumhouse/Universal’s untitled Exorcist sequel from Mike Flanagan. Warner is doubling down on the movie as a tentpole and giving it that magical mid-March spot which has been the home to Dune: Part Two and The Batman. The studio will have Imax around the world for the pic.

Pic is produced by Mitchell, J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Matt Jackson, Tommy Harper and Jon Cohen. Cast also includes Maisy Stella, Christian Convery, Jordan Alexa Davis and P.J. Byrne.
