Refused have announced a farewell tour of North America in March and April 2025, with support from Quicksand. The Swedish post-hardcore greats will also reissue their landmark album The Shape of Punk to Come on November 8 for its 25th anniversary, including a 3xLP version with unreleased demos and rare alternate versions, plus an album of covers by artists including Fucked Up, Idles, Touché Amoré, Quicksand, Zulu, and Gel. Dubbed The Shape of Punk to Come Obliterated, that and the reissue are out November 8 via Epitaph. Check out the covers album’s tracklist below, along with the “Refused Are Fucking Dead” tour dates.
Today’s announcement follows frontperson Dennis Lyxzén’s recovery from a heart attack in June, which forced the band to cancel a show billed as their last-ever Swedish festival set. Refused drummer David Sandström said in a press release, “Dennis is doing great. He’s one of the healthiest dudes I know, he can’t sit still, exercises a lot and it follows that his recuperation would be swift. He’s gotten excellent care and his doctor has run all the physical tests on him and they all indicate he’s making a full recovery…. We’re coming to the US in March/April 2025 and we’re looking at what else we can do with the rest of the year, all we know is that we want to finish back home in Sweden at the end of the year.”
