In limited release, Focus Features’ 2024 Sundance Audience Award-winner Dìdi grossed $200k at five locations for a strong per theater average of $40k, one of the top three limited openings of the year. It carries a 95% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes with an early audience score of 100%. The film by Sean Wang will continue its slow platform release next weekend adding approximately 50 theaters.

“This strong opening weekend re-confirms what audiences, and our team saw at Sundance this past January, a heartwarming and relatable coming-of-age story that showcases Sean Wang’s immense talent as a storyteller. We are pleased with this start and look to strategically roll the film out in the coming weeks as this film is discovered,” said Focus Features’ President of Distribution, Lisa Bunnell.
