Hi, all! I’m excited to share my newest music video “STEADY” with you. If you like “STEADY”, please like, share, and comment! Thank you for being with me on this ride! It’s been a productive and exciting year! Happy Holidays!

I had put together the lyric video and sent it to Bill Westmoreland (he directed our Sanctuary music video) and he watched it and said, come on over (to his NYC studio and home). We live a few minutes from one another in the West Village in New York City. He had an idea he wanted to try out. I went over and sat on a stool and sang the song, as it played from his computer. He had a few camera lights set up and a small fan! He had two cameras on tripods, one straight on and the other on the side. We used the first take, and the straight-on camera, it was so much fun and one of those moments when things just organically worked out. I love working with Bill!

About this video: Denise partners for the second time with visual artist, painter, photographer, and videographer Bill Westmoreland after their successful work together on the SANCTUARY music video. “STEADY” was written by Denise in 1985 while she was living in Camden Town, London, and has been a favorite of many fans for years. The song was released in 2012 on Denise’s album Live Forever. It was re-released and remastered in the summer of 2023 with new music distributors Exploration.io now behind KeyMedia Group.

STEADY
We could stand up tall proclaim love everlasting
We could lose it all and still, we’d end up laughing
Sometimes only one thing really matters
Once you find that someone you’ve got to hold on
Yes my heart is steady in your hands
Could it be my love is all you need?
Take heed helpless newborn babies cry
The first day they breathe

Life may slow us down confusing our emotions
Our hearts will turn us around restoring our devotion
Sometimes only one thing really matters
Once you find that someone you’ve got to hold on
Yes my heart is steady in your hands
Could it be my love is all you need?
Take heed helpless newborn babies cry
The first day they breathe

Will you be there in my darkest hour
When my soul cries out for something to hold onto
And can I stand by you not beneath you but beside you
I’ll be there beside you keeping it steady

Yes my heart is steady in your hands
Could it be your love is all I need?
Take heed helpless newborn babies cry
The first day they breathe

Yes my heart is steady in your hands
Could it be my love is all you need?
Take heed helpless newborn babies cry
The first day they breathe

Marsa wrote the song in 1985 when she was living in London under contract with Warner Brothers Music, UK and it has been a fan favorite ever since. This award-winning* version of the song is featured on her 2012 album “Live Forever.” The track was remastered and rereleased in August of this year and is a subtle ode to Diana Ross and The Supremes; the backing vocals of Rachel Millman, Nicole Berke, and Rhonda Denet provide an integral ingredient to the mix.
