Film News, News

We told you first that Sony won the theatrical distribution deal to handle Apple Original Films Jon Watts’ directed George Clooney and Brad Pitt thriller Wolfs, as well as the Greg Berlanti directed Scarlett Johansson-Channing Tatum movie previously known as Project Artemis (title forthcoming). We heard they were getting 2024 release dates and well, here they are: the latter will bow in theaters on July 12 next year while Wolfs hits theaters on Sept. 20.

Both titles will screen in premium large formats. Wolfs will also have access to Imax.

Berlanti directed and produces off a screenplay by Rose Gilroy. The project is under wraps, however is set against the 1960s space race. Ensemble cast also includes Jim Rash, Emmy Award-winner Ray Romano, newcomer Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg and Christian Zuber and Woody Harrelson. In addition to starring, Johansson serves as producer under her These Pictures banner. Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn produce alongside Johansson for These Pictures. Sarah Schechter produces for Berlanti Productions. Robert Dohrmann executive produces, and Apple Studios serves as the studio.

Watts wrote and directed Wolfs which follows Clooney and Pitt as two lone-wolf fixers who are assigned to the same job. Academy Award-nominee and SAG Award-winner Amy Ryan also stars. Watts and Dianne McGunigle produce. Clooney produces alongside Grant Heslov through Smokehouse Pictures. Pitt produces alongside Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment.

Sony won both movies after its success with Apple’s Ridley Scott directed epic Napoleon which is heading toward $200M WW at the box office.
