The Magnetic Fields Announce 69 Love Songs 25th Anniversary Shows

Stephin Merritt and the album’s original players will play through the record a handful of times next year

The Magnetic Fields are marking the 25th anniversary of their album 69 Love Songs by performing it in full at a few shows in 2024. Stephin Merritt will lead all of the original performers on the album—Sam Davol, Claudia Gonson, Shirley Simms, and John Woo—across a handful of two-night stands. See all of the dates below.

69 Love Songs arrived on Merge Records in September 1999, a three-volume set of Merritt’s genre-spanning accounts of love in its many forms. The album has gotten reissued on vinyl twice, in 2010 and 2015. The Magnetic Fields last released a record in 2020 with Quickies.
