Blake Mills Announces New Album Jelly Road, Shares Song: Listen

“Skeleton Is Walking” leads the full-length, which Mills wrote with jazz musician Chris Weisman

Blake Mills has announced a new album: Jelly Road is out July 14 via New Deal and Verve. The LP was co-written with Chris Weisman, the prolific and reclusive jazz musician from Brattleboro, Vermont. Check out the new song “Skeleton Is Walking” below. Joseph Lorge recorded and co-mixed the album.

Mills and Weisman also worked together on material for Daisy Jones & the Six and its accompanying album, Aurora. The duo will tour around Mills’ forthcoming performance with Joni Mitchell in Gorge, Washington. Find those dates below.

Mills’ last solo album was 2020’s Mutable Set. In 2021, he worked with Pino Palladino on Notes With Attachments. He’s also worked on recent records for artists including Fiona Apple, Bob Dylan, and Phoebe Bridgers.
