The Gaslight Anthem Share First New Song in 9 Years: Listen

“Positive Charge,” the New Jersey band’s first single since 2014, arrives ahead of a U.S. tour

The Gaslight Anthem are back with “Positive Charge,” their first new song since 2014. Peter Katis produced and mixed the single at Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Find the new song’s video below.

In a press release, the Gaslight Anthem’s frontman, Brian Fallon, said, “‘Positive Charge’ began as a message of joy to ourselves and to our audience.” He continued, “The central theme is about looking at the things you’ve come through and feeling like you want to go ahead with an open heart toward the future, believing that the best years are not behind any of us and the good we have is worth something.”

The Gaslight Anthem’s fifth and most recent studio album, Get Hurt, was released in August 2014. The band is going on a tour of the United States beginning in May. Guests on the tour include Oso Oso, Emily Wolfe, Fear, Avail, and the Original Misfits.
