Twitter Users Called Out Samuel L. Jackson Over Liking Porn On His Birthday

Film News

Samuel L. Jackson had quite an eventful 74th birthday. The Pulp Fiction star shocked his 9 million Twitter followers when he began liking pornography on his big day. Users began to call the actor out, and some even gave the Hollywood A-lister some social media tips.

On Wednesday, December 21st, Samuel L. Jackson began to like some sexually explicit content on his official and verified Twitter account. Though Jackson eventually removed his likes from the pornographic posts, it wasn’t quick enough because within hours, the incident had been written up on several large online news sites, had gone viral, and the birthday “oopsie” gathered thousands of social media reactions. Many users and Samuel L. Jackson fans were worried that the actor didn’t know his online likes were public. One user was straight and to the point, making sure to clue the elder statesman actor in on how the platform worked.

That was helpful. Another user also took the opportunity to let Mr. Jackson know his Twitter likes were public, but not without the aide of a hilarious meme of the Avengers actor. This one is, honestly, chef’s kiss.

That wasn’t the only funny response to Samuel L. Jackson’s birthday surprise. Another user got Walter White in on the action of schooling the actor on his social media faux pas.

Other fans didn’t think it was so funny that people were calling the Jackie Brown star out, especially on his birthday. One person said those “calling” Jackson out for liking porn were bullies who down right suck.

Even the people who called Jackson out for his likes didn’t seem to be bullying him so much as wanting to let him know his connection to the hardcore posts was a matter of public record. Other people found the incident somewhat comical and took the opportunity to respond to it humorously. For instance, this Twitter user perfectly used the “me logging in” meme to highlight their utter shock while managing to be funny.

Perhaps my favorite response was by a fan who used this clip of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher from a dramatic courtroom scene from season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil. I cannot begin to think of a more appropriate response.
