In February, Bright Eyes announced new reissues of the band’s first three albums, and, now, Conor Oberst and co. have revealed that the next three Bright Eyes albums will also be reissued. Lifted or the Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground; I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning; and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn are due out in updated forms on November 11 via Dead Oceans.

As with the earlier reissues, each album will be accompanied by a new “companion” EP, in which the band rerecords five songs from the original album with new musicians, along with a cover song. Oberst was joined by longtime Bright Eyes musicians Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott, in addition to Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings, Becky Stark, Maria Taylor, and more.

Bright Eyes are also heading out on tour, with a stretch of European dates in August and September before coming to North America for shows in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The dates follow another stint of North American stops from earlier this year.

Bright Eyes released their 10th studio album, Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was, in August 2020. The previous year, Conor Oberst teamed up with Phoebe Bridgers for their collaborative album as Better Oblivion Community Center.

See where Bright Eyes ended up on Pitchfork’s list of “The 200 Most Important Artists of Pitchfork’s First 25 Years.”
