Young Thug was arrested today in Atlanta on charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, online jail records show. He was booked in the Fulton County Jail. This story is developing.

According to WSB-TV reporter Michael Seiden, Thug’s arrest was the result of a larger 56-count grand jury indictment that included 28 members and associates of his label and imprint YSL (Young Slime Life/Young Stoner Life/Young Slatt Life). Gunna was reportedly named in the indictment and also faces one count of conspiring to violate RICO. Prosecutors called YSL a “criminal street gang,” Seiden reports.

Pitchfork has reached out to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and Young Thug’s representatives.

Thug ended 2021 with the release of his new album Punk and a performance on Saturday Night Live. The album featured huge guests including Drake, J. Cole, Travis Scott, Mac Miller, Future, the late Juice WRLD, A$AP Rocky, Post Malone, Doja Cat, and Gunna. YSL have released two Slime Language compilations.
