Grimes shared a new song called “Love” via her Instagram account earlier today (September 30). “‘I wrote and produced this song this week in response to all the privacy invasion, bad press, online hate and harassment by paparazzis I’ve experienced this week,” Grimes wrote in the post’s caption. The track arrives one week after Elon Musk told Page Six that he and Grimes are “semi-separated.” Grimes also shared the full lyrics to the song in her Instagram post. That’s it below.

Grimes and Musk publicly revealed their relationship at the 2018 Met Gala. In early 2020, she shared a photo of herself on Instagram that suggested she was pregnant, and later confirmed the news. In May of that year, Grimes gave birth to her and Musk’s son X Æ A-XII.

Grimes has discussed Elon Musk and their relationship in several interviews since they began dating, particularly while doing press for her most recent LP Miss Anthropocene. “Love” marks her first new public piece of music since she contributed the “AI Lullaby” to the algorithm-based mood music startup Endel last year.
