Julian McMahon Started His Career in Australia

McMahon has had a long career on TV screens, starting with the 1989 Australian soap The Power, The Passion.

He went on to star in Home & Away before making his U.S. debut on NBC’s Another World.

McMahon then starred in both The Profiler and Charmed, but his break came in the form of 2003’s Nip/Tuck, where he starred opposite Dylan Walsh.

More recently, he headlined FBI: Most Wanted for three seasons, before the late actor surprisingly opted to depart the CBS procedural.

On the big screen, McMahon played Victor Von Doom in Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

In the aftermath of the tragic news, many of McMahon’s former colleagues have shared tributes.

The Tributes Pour In

“I’m stunned,” his Nip/Tuck co-star Dylan Walsh said in a statement to Deadline.

“We rode this wave together and I loved him. My heart goes out to Kelly and [their daughter] Maddy. Jules! I know you’d want me to say something to make you smile — all the inside jokes,” the actor continued.

“All those years you had my back, and my god, we laughed. My heart is with you. Rest in peace.”

FBI franchise overlord Dick Wolf shared a statement of his own.

“All of us at Wolf Entertainment are deeply saddened by Julian’s passing and our condolences go out to his entire family.”

Charmed star Rose McGowan called Julian a “force of brilliance” and commended his “wild talent and humor” in an Instagram Story.

“One of a kind is an understatement. Your unyielding zest for life and crazy making sense of humor will be sorely missed,” added Holly Marie Combs.

“The joy and laughter you were the direct cause of will always be remembered. I hope you find our lady friend and dance in those rose petals.”

“Sad day for our Charmed family! Julian was one of the funniest, devilishly handsome and kind souls! Prayers to his family and close friends! He will surely be missed,” Brian Krause added.

May Julian McMahon rest in peace.
