Nicole Kidman ‘Babygirl’ Sets Spring Max Streaming Date

Film News

Babygirl, the A24 Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson bawdy office romance movie, will be streaming on Max on April 25 after a 121-theatrical day window.

That’s a very a long robust window that no exhibitor can complain about.

The R-rated boss-in-love-with-an-intern movie opened on Christmas Day and went on to make $28.1M domestic, $63.8M worldwide off a $20M production cost. Despite the bawdy nature of the pic, A24 booked the movie in theaters over the holiday season as there’s always room for a hard-R play at the Christmas time box office. Bodies Bodies Bodies filmmaker Halina Reijn directed, produced and wrote the feature.

Babygirl made its world premiere at Venice, and went on to gather Best Actress nominations for Kidman at the Golden Globes and Gotham Awards (Outstanding Lead Performance). Kidman was also named Best Actress at the National Board of Review and received the Volpi Cup at Venice for Best Actress.

Babygirl was also named one of the top best films by National Board of Review and was nominated for Best Independent Feature at the Gotham Awards.

Kidman has another thriller hitting Prime on March 27, the Mimi Cave directed Holland which just world premiered at SXSW. In that movie, a woman’s picture-perfect life in quaint Holland, Michigan crumbles, when she and a friend uncover a twisted secret in their midst. Holland currently stands at 44% with Rotten Tomatoes critics. Babygirl scored a 76% certified fresh with Rotten Tomatoes critics and a B- CinemaScore.

Antonia Banderas, Sophie Wilde, Esther McGregor also starred in Babygirl. Producers are David Hinojosa, and Julia Oh.
