Christine and the Queens is back with a new song from the Redcar project. The single is called “rien dire,” and it’s set to appear on the upcoming album Redcar les adorables étoiles (out November 11 via Because Music). Listen below.

“That song is about a conversation of love that carries on even if you don’t see the person or hear the person anymore,” Christine and the Queens told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. “True love is a conversation that is never interrupted. And by never I mean not even by death. That’s my current faith I have right now. That song is a conversation I have with someone that’s not there anymore. We can’t be without each other, which can be annoying because I’m a very timid person.”

“Rien dire” is French for “say nothing,” and the single is built around pulsing synth pads and drum-machine beats. “Oh on s’append / Oh on s’attend / Oh on se rend et sans jamais rien dire,” Redcar sings in the hook, which translates to “Oh we learn each other / Oh we wait for each other / Oh we surrender and without ever speaking.”

“Rien dire” follows another recent single from Christine and the Queens called “Je the vois enfin,” or “I finally see you.” In February 2020, he released La vita nuova EP, which included the single “People I’ve Been Sad.” Christine also teamed up with Charli XCX and Caroline Polachek for the single “New Shapes.”
