Lil Nas X performed at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards tonight. After an introduction by collaborator Billy Ray Cyrus, Lil Nas X performed his recent single “Panini” alongside a troupe of futuristic dancers. His performance was preceded by a brief clip that cast Lil Nas X as president. Watch it go down below.
Lil Nas X is nominated in eight categories at this year’s VMAs: Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist presented by Taco Bell, Best Collaboration, Best Hip-Hop, Best Direction, Best Editing, and Best Art Direction. The Atlanta artist has had a busy summer: He released his debut 7 EP and set a new record for the longest-running No. 1 single in charts history. He also got Young Thug and Mason Ramsey and also BTS’ RM for new “Old Town Road” remixes.
