Carol Burnett, Bob Newhart and More Comedy Icons Will Be Honored With Special Award

Get ready to honor some of the people who gave TV a few of its greatest laughs!

The Paley Center for Media announced Thursday that it would be hosting The Paley Honors: A Special Tribute to Television’s Comedy Legends this fall. The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, where comedy legends Carol Burnett (The Carol Burnett Show), Norman Lear (One Day at a Time), Bob Newhart (The Bob Newhart Show), Carl Reiner (The Dick Van Dyke Show), and Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie) will receive the Paley Honors Award.

The event will celebrate the greatest comedic moments and legends in television as well as their ability to call attention to relevant social issues through a comedic lens in television. “We’re thrilled to pay special tribute to the comedic trailblazers who left their indelible mark on television,” said Maureen J. Reidy, the Paley Center’s president.
